Fancy That Costumes started as a small ‘home based’ business some ten years ago operating from Wynberg. The vision of Fancy That was to provide quality fancy dress costumes along with excellent service, recognising that most people when invited to a fancy dress party need help and advice to select the right costume. Through rapid growth the business moved to shop premises in Plumstead.
In 2002, Fancy That acquired Sue Farmer Costumes adding a further two branches, Pinelands and Bellvile and an additional 5000 costumes to the business. All branches were refurbished to project a corporate image and all costumes were carefully screened, sorted, treated and re-modelled where necessary to ensure equal high standards throughout all three branches.
In 2006 a further branch was opened in Parklands to service the local community followed by the acquisition of a further 2000 costumes from RDA Events. Now in 2007 the Pinelands branch has acquired additional space and extended to become Cape Towns first Fancy Dress Super Store with some 450 sq meters of wardrobe space, luxurious appointed changing areas plus a full time workshop.

All costumes are maintained to the highest standard and our range increases every day with two full time designers producing new costumes daily. Our wardrobe staff are highly trained to assist you to advise you in the selection and fitting of the right costume for your occasion complete with accessories to add that final touch. We are here to ensure that you and your costume make a Grand Entrance.

At Fancy That Costumes we recognize that you are busy and it can be difficult to make all the necessary trips to our stores to rent a costume ie; first trip to book, second trip to collect and third trip to return the costume. We also know that for many there simply is not a suitable store close enough to you. So we have taken the pain away and introduced a new on-line shopping experience giving you the option of selecting and buying your costumes on-line from our extensive 2009 catalogue of Sale Costumes and accessories.
